Photographer and videomaker, Salvatore Laurenzana lives and works in Potenza. Throughout his career, he has used photography and video as media to explore, visually interpret, and share life experience. He has collaborated with performing arts companies and organisations running film and music festivals as well as poets, artists, and architects to give new breath of life to themes and concepts, share knowledge, or preserve the memory of a particular event or condition.
Salvatore Laurenzana, a sought-after photographer by theatre companies for his aesthetic sense, sensibility and skills, has long focused his artistic research on the relationship between gesture and the consequences or response to it, whether on stage or in the world around us. He has exhibited his works in art galleries and museums. More recently he has shown his photographs combining nature and performance in a solo exhibition at the Porta Coeli International Art Gallery in Venosa. The installation photography presented at the XIth Florence Biennale, Sôma Pneumatikón, comes from that challenging project.
