"Presences and Absences" - Rima Almozayyen's painting solo exhibition - Tricarico

“Presenze e Assenze” by Palestinian artist Rima Almozayyen, will be opened on the 30th August, 6:00 pm at Palazzo Lizzadri, Tricarico (MT). Promoted by Porta Coeli Art Gallery – “Ertico Collection” and enjoying the patronage of the municipality of Tricarico and Radio New Sound, will be on show until the 7th September 2014. The initiative aims at providing adequate information about the current situation of the Palestinian people, still on the international news for war, with civil deaths including also children.

After the great success in Venosa, from 2nd to 9th August, this time in Tricarico she has added some artworks to the exhibition “InFalestinese”. The opening will be an interesting moment for reflection, featuring dr. Angela Marchisiella, Mayor of Tricarico, the director of “Porta Coeli” art Gallery, Aniello Ertico, the art critic dr. Fiorella Fiore, mr. prof. Antonio Masini and the psychiatrist and psychotherapist Renato Maffione, with Eva Bonitatibus as moderator. Following the press conference, people may meet the artist. Famous and appreciated on the international scene, Rima Almozayyen has been at the center of important initiatives, also as finalist of the X edition of the Rome International Art Biennial in January 2014. She has had important roles in Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and has been person responsible for Talents at the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, Member of the General Union of the Palestinian Artists Configuration, member of the Gaza Contemporary Art Convergence, person in charge of Culture and Arts at the Cairo Palestinian Embassy.

Porta Coeli Art Gallery and the Municipality of Tricarico support the application of Matera as European Capital of Culture 2019 and will host the Mayor of Matera for the occasion, during the ceremony.

The Palestinian Embassy is expected to attend the opening.
