"Drops of Tuberose" - Maria Luisa D'Eboli's painting solo exhibition

4th February – 28th April 2017

“There are things we know until someone asks us to describe them. It is not that we are incapable of finding the best lexical solution, is that words are inadequate as a communicative instrument. Painting, as many other expressions, describes, confides, allows the sharing, adding to other means. What’s the wind, if not the effect of what we empirically feel? What’s a dream outside the dream? How can a scent be explained to a child?” (Aniello Ertico)

The painting solo exhibition of Artist Maria Luisa D’Eboli titled “Gocce di Tuberosa” was opened on 4th February 2017 and will be on show until 28th April.

The opening night featured painting and exclusive perfumes intertwined, through a suggestive sensorial experience. The collaboration with Etos perfumery by Anna Santoro, offered the chance to begin a journey through refined perfumes that connected to the artworks have offered an inedited opening experience, to the tunes of Mr. Vito Stano’s cello. Journalist Eva Bonitatibus moderated the speeches in the opening part of the night: Aniello Ertico Director of Porta Coeli, and the closing part President of the Regional Council of Basilicata, Francrsco Molllica. She interviewed also the artist who described her own art.

During his intervention president mollica has underlined the growing relevance reached by Porta Coeli International Art Gallery during time both on a national and international level and has announced the decision of the Basilicata Regional Council to allow the permanent patronage on any activities to be made. In the view of an authorities’ growing attention to the culture theme in our region, Venosa confirms itself as being an excellence place for artistic and cultural promotion.

Maria Luisa D’Eboli’s exhibition “Gocce di Tuberosa” is displayed in a surprising layout, curated in every detail by the staff’s passion and professionality and thanks to the inebriating olfactive experience, guests and visitors have been involved into an exhibition rich in movement, colour and elegance.

The catalogue “Maria Luisa D’Eboli” too, curated by the Gallery, with texts by Aniello Ertico and Melanie Zefferino, curator of the Florence Binennale, is part of the art srction of Porta Coeli Publisher.

Melanie Zefferino writes in her review; “Dedicating herself to this anthological exhibit at the Porta Coeli gallery, Maria Luisa D’Eboli recalls the most important moments of her artistic career and, with an existential gesture, “accarezza” her land and her origins. Perhaps in Venosa, more than in the European Capitals, the clearest southern light can reveal all the magic of this artist and her doing, wherein strength and delicacy coexist.
