Waiting for Florence Biennale 2017 award ceremony

On 6th August 2016, 7.00 pm, the closing Waiting for Florence Biennale award ceremony will be held, organized by Porta Coeli International Art Gallery of Venosa in partnership with the Florence Biennale.

During the evening, to be held at the Porta Coeli’s premises with  the presence of the three Jury members, Melanie Zefferino – Responsible for International Projects and curator of the Florence Biennale, Giovanni Cafarelli – Higher Education professor teaching History of Arts and editor of the specialized art magazine “Sineresi”, and Francesca De Trana – Responsible of Research and Artistic Selection at Porta Coeli Itl Art Gallery, the winners will be awarded the direct access at the XI Florence Biennale, prestigious International contemporary art biennial in Florence.

The artists will be awarded the selection certification and bestowed the special mentions.

Confirmed the presence of Jacopo Celona, General Manager of the Florence Biennale.

The selected artworks, are being displayed at the suggestive Porta Coeli’s premises in Venosa, in the XVI century “Palazzo Rapolla” in the heart of the historic centre, as far as painting is concerned, and on the open gallery of the XV century Pirro del Balzo Castle, as for sculpture. Many have been the visitors: contemporary art and ancient places combined produce fascinating suggestions.

On 6th August, the artworks will be gathered in the Porta Coeli's exhibition halls where visitors will also attend the award ceremony.

The evening will be enlivened by the “Toni De Giorgi Trio”.
